On the recommendation of National President of Indian Journalist Association, Seraj Ahmad Quraishi, the National Organization Secretary Akhileshwar Dhar Dwivedi has appointed Ranchi resident Public 24 Channel Director and senior journalist Devanand Sinha as a Jharkhand State President and has expressed the hope that he will always be ready to protect the interests of journalists and to respond to incidents of harassment by connecting all journalists from villages to cities to the Indian Journalist Association.
Mr. Devanand Sinha said that the objective of the Indian Journalist Association is to get the Journalist Protection Act passed by the government, formation of a journalist constituency in the Legislative Council, formation of a Digital Media Board and the creation of a National Journalist Digital Register, for which I will continue to make efforts.
On being made the State President, Devanand Sinha expressed his gratitude to the National President and all the committee members of the Indian Journalist Association and said that while respecting this post, I will try to live up to the expectations of my organization and I have been working and will continue to work for the welfare of the journalist brothers.
